Jazz Rainbow Project: bringing the joy of music to life |
|
About Jazz Rainbow • Family Fun Concerts • Open Workshops In 2007 the Global Music Foundation launched the highly successful Jazz Rainbow Project, a programme of interactive workshops and concerts designed to widen the audience for improvisational music in the UK. Having completed the event programme, GMF is embarking on a new calendar of special projects in 2008. About the Jazz Rainbow ProjectMusic produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.- Confucius Whether you are a music venue promoter, a community arts officer, a music teacher or a local retailer, the Jazz Rainbow Project can offer you a lively, interactive event that will entertain and educate music lovers of all ages with performances and guidance from Europe’s top professional jazz musicians, drawn from the Global Music Foundation's team of highly accomplished music performers and educators. These events are supported by Jazz Services. Family Fun ConcertsLive public concerts bring families together and can provide ideal weekend or holiday entertainment for your community. Musical delights and surprises are on offer in this programme of popular film and TV theme tunes featuring spontaneous improvisations by GMF musicians. A great event for town centres which can be supported by local businesses and community organizations.
Open WorkshopsProfessional and aspiring musicians of all instruments and ages are welcome to attend this informal masterclass/workshop, open to the community, which can be scheduled as a stand-alone event or as a warm-up to an evening concert. Participants are invited to play and learn more about all aspects of group playing, instrumental skills and improvisation. An ideal event for a local music school, college or a community centre.
Primary School ConcertsEnrich your school’s music curriculum with a unique and exciting concert especially designed for children with an eye to developing essential Key Stage listening skills and deepening their appreciation of music. Our programme of improvisational music and a fun prize quiz builds on popular film and TV themes, nursery rhymes and other tunes, entertaining pupils while building their awareness of how pitch, harmony, rhythm and pulse combine in instrumental ensembles to tell compelling stories.
Evening ConcertsThis evening programme features GMF musicians in a more formal setting where they will play a mix of original compositions along with arrangements from the Family Fun concerts. An ideal event for a music society to host in a local concert venue.
TestimonialsI would just like to say how wonderful Jason Rebello and the Jazz Rainbow
Project were . . . my students were absolutely inspired by them. Thank you for giving us this opportunity and I look forward to future
workshops. Just wanted to say thank you to you all for your fantastic playing and
workshop-leading on Sunday. Everyone I've spoken to seems to have really
enjoyed themselves. One person said it was the best gig he'd seen in
years...personally, I had a great time and was left feeling inspired. Always a
good feeling! Thank you so much for Saturday. . . the feedback has been superb. Big big thank yous to the guys.
